Red Any% Glitchless WR (Accomplished Nov 18, 2020 with 1:45:05) I'm the most motivated I've ever been playing Red. I'm putting in probably 20+ hours a week for the past month and I don't feel burned out. I've improved so much since my last PB, it's only a matter of time. I will get this. Finish Triple Extended 4.0 (initial revision published Dec 3, 2020) I know this is doable, it just requires a lot of time and effort. Botting manips usually locks my computer out of doing anything important for a while, but I'm hoping to have a basic continuation of this manip released with good igt before going into more refinement via nicer paths/npc cues. Crystal Any% Glitchless: N/A Didn't get around to it from last year, but this is still on my bucket list. After I'm finished with Gen 1, I plan on learning the game and having fun with it. I still don't think I'm going to go for a serious time (wr), but I might go for a respectable pb if I enjoy running this game. Gen 1 Beginner Content I've talked about this forever, and I've had basic outlines/scripts written forever, but I still haven't found motivation to make this. I want to make this a very polished product, and it's hard for me to put time into something that I don't feel is really up to par. I'm writing this in my paste to try to keep myself accountable entering 2021. TCG Any% Glitchless: Sub 55 (54:31 on Feb 1, 51:52 on Feb 4, with new early duel manips botted by me) I played this game for a few weeks after getting my Red 1:45 and it was super fun. There's been a lot of changes to the route since I've played (Ebuzz manip and fast mash manips), and I look forward to coming back to this game. I don't think it's really sustainable to play this game for long though; it's the only game I've played that actively hurt my hands after a long session. Emerald Any% Glitchless: N/A If mGBA is visible on the leaderboard, I definitely want to dabble in Emerald. It looks like a very fun speedgame with a lot of new execution that looks super fun (mach bike, spinner passes, etc). Low priority for sure, might not get around to it in 2021 if other goals are in the way. Red Any%: Sub 1:19.726 (sub wave) Learned and played this for literally 2 days. Putting this mostly as a joke goal, but it would be fun to bop wave in another category. It's an interesting category being purely execution, even if it is a meme (pokeguy's wr is insane). Reflections on 2020 (so far) (2020 goals: https://pastebin.com/8AZmP5ty) This might be a bit premature since we still have another month and a half in this year, but I'm extremely satisfied with what I've accomplished. I finished everything on my initial 2020 goal list except for getting a crystal run, and I've improved so much as a gen 1 runner and as a PSR programmer/botter (so much gratitude to stringflow/entrpntr). I achieved several pbs in yellow, WR, and I'm happy with my performance in this year's Red tournament. Notably I also stole both of Wave's Misty% runs (Yellow Misty% is still the worst category I've ever run please don't run this), and had a blast playing and routing Red++, trading WRs at some point before Wave's current WR. For PSR programming projects, I've become competent in doing small things like IGT checking, but also basic manip finding. Some noteworthy psr programming projects I accomplished this year that I want to list are: improvements to the post-nerd backup paras manip oddish backup manip (for races) triple extended 3.0 SS manip with potion pickup route 3 moon manip f36/37 backups with paras yoloball yellow mankey manip with yoloball red++ bird, forest, and cans manip Overall I feel like this was a fantastic year for me in PSR. Entering 2020, I knew that I was capable of getting top times in gen 1, but this year I really feel like I was able to prove it in Yellow, and with how much I've improved in Red (hopefully a pb soon). Hoping the best for 2021.
