Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Speedrunning FAQ

Q. How are you streaming this game?
A. I'm using a 3DS capture card from 3dsvideocapture.com

Q. What are you trying to do?
A. This is a speedrun, so I'm trying to beat the game as fast as possible.

Q. Why do you pick Mudkip?
A. Mudkip is by far the best Pokémon to use for the speedrun, it has a type advantage against 3 of the first 4 gyms, and has access to a great movepool including Echoed Voice and Bulldoze. 

Q. Why do you keep resetting at the first fight?
A. I reset because my stats are not good enough to complete the run fast, I need my Mudkip to have at least 13 Attack, 10 Special Attack, and 9 Speed.

Q. Will you use Mudkip for the whole Speedrun?
A. No I switch to the level 30 Latias you receive after defeating Norman, and then to Kyogre before Wallace.

Q. Why Alpha Sapphire over Omega Ruby?
A. Kyogre beats the later fights a lot faster than Groudon because of its access to STAB Surf allowing me to skip the use of the Primal Evolution, which wastes a lot of time.

Q. Do you need any HM Slaves?
A. No the Pokemon I receive during the run learn all the HM's I need.

Q. What is your PB?
A. 3:10 in Omega Ruby with old strats.
