Pokemon Red Any% Glitchless FAQ Q: What are you playing on? A: Gameboy Player for Gamecube. Q: What is your goal? A: 1:47. Q: What splits are you comparing against? A: These are 1:47:54 target splits that me and wsopboy91 created. The idea is that if i am equal or ahead with these splits, I know I am capable of getting 1:47 that run. Q: What is the World Record? A: The current World Record is 1:48:50 by me. Exarion has a 1:48:49 on emulator, however since it is on emulator and has faster resets, it does not count as World Record. Q: Why did you save and reset there? A: RNG Manipulation. Saving and hard resetting basically causes the Random Number Generator to start at the same point, so by playing frame perfectly from the reset I can get the same results almost every time. I do this to manipulate a Nidoran with perfect stats that gets in the ball, no encounters in Mt. Moon except for a paras, and Surge's trash cans. Q: What is IGT0? A: In Game Timer 0. It is a small chance of an RNG Manipulation failing due to the in game timer being on a bad frame when saving. Nidoran manip is 3/60 to fail, Trash can manip is 2/60 to fail, and Mt. Moon manip varies based on which manip I do. Q: Why are you doing different manips in Route 3/Mt. Moon every run? A: The manips you do vary depending on your HP and amount of Horn Attacks. If I have 17+ HP after the 2nd Bug Catcher on Route 3, you will usually see me fight the Route 3 Lass. If i have less tahn 17, I will usually fight the Bug Catcher in Mt. Moon. If i have too little HP/Horn Attacks, you will see me take the center and do the standard Mt. Moon strats with no Mega Punch.
