In simple terms, you track the IGT so you can: - Always manipulate a perfect Nido - Manipulate a Pidgeotto for experience instead of a slow Bug Catcher - Always manipulate a Pidgey - Manipulate a perfect or near-perfect fight against the last Bug Catcher in the forest - Manipulate 0 useless forest encounters Details: - Win Rival 1 fight; check Pikachu stats - IGT track through Viridian Forest - Nido manip: > Hit a 3-4 frame IGT window > Always FFEF > Minimal cost > Ideally minimal difficulty, but prioritize stats and cost - Extend Nido manip into Viridian Forest > Observe NPCs to see which IGT frame and nickname frame you hit (15+ patterns) > Each pattern (and possibly each Pikachu Defense value) should correspond to a Pidgeotto manip - Pidgeotto manip: > Cut through post-BC1 grass on as many patterns as you can > Minimal encounter chances to BC2 > Turn 1 must be Gust into TS paralysis; turn 2 manips will vary (and might be too difficult to execute consistently) - Fight BC2 normally - Pidgey manip: > Hit a 3-4 frame IGT window > One for green bar, one for yellow/red bar > Minimal cost > Ideally minimal difficulty - Extend Pidgey manip into BC3 fight > Hit a 3-4 frame window for the end text box > Manip the fight so it is always 3 turns (sometimes 2) and String Shot never hits - Extend Pidgey/BC3 manip into encounterless final stretch of forest > This will likely have more branches than any other manip, and execution will be difficult
