*THESE NOTES ARE A WIP Bingo notes; Setting time; - If there are no day specific goals set time to 10:00am Saturday - Bug Catching Contest goals (everstone / gold berry OR win contest) require Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday - 3 Lvl 30+ Pokemon is faster in the day time because you can catch a Lvl 30 on Route 45 by repelling with the Shiny at the front of your party - TM13 Snore requires rolling the day over to refresh the berry trees as it requires 7 berries. Generally it is best to set the time to ~ 11:54 so you can get the two berry trees twice on the first passes of route 29 and 30. - For item specific days refer to the short form guide here; https://docs.google.com/document/d/1srGAsoqS3ui6mR5Pdw1KGweRtL9NnXsd2axS03velro/edit?usp=sharing New Bark; - Take starter; - if release starter is on the card; ~ prioritize a poke with high base speed to escape from encounters or the starter that will give your rival the weakest poke for the rest of the game. ~ if release starter is not on the card take the best poke available while also considering what poke will be given to your rival - Menu; - Take off the held item Route 29; - Take the shortest path through the first patches of grass. Cherrygrove; - Enter the centre if you have a slow main or are fearful of dying on the way up to Mr Pokemon - Mart; - if no repels or catch 20/30+ pokes is on the card; ~ 9 / 12 Balls ~ 4 / 2 Potions - all other situations; ~ 5 Balls ~ 3 Potions ~ 3 Repels Route 30; - Take the optimal path through the grass up to Mr Pokemon. - Pick up the hidden item. - Take the Psncureberry if 7 berries is on the card. - Take the optimal path down to the item ball. Take the grass of the right hand side if need to see more slots before rival. - Take the left side if have a main or have seen 3+ slots. - Pick up the berry. Take the berry from the man in the house if TM13 Snore is on the card. Cherrygrove 2; - Fight your rival Route 29; - Take the bottom path to avoid all grass back to Mr Pokemon. ~ Can take some grass if have not seen any slots on 29 yet. Can pick up the item if you opt for this strategy. New Bark; - Name your rival and talk to Elm. Route 29; - Take the optimal path through the grass, stay until you have seen 3+ slots if you have not found a main yet. - Consider checking Route 46 if you have seen 4+ slots on 29/30 and still have no main. - If you have found a Pokemon with headbutt consider checking headbutt trees as they will give level 10 pokes. You can continue to headbutt the same tree if it does not give an encounter the first time. Route 46; - Check no more than 3 slots here before leaving. Route 30; - Take the optimal path through the first two grass patches. - IF you have a main AND Max Phonebook is on the card, fight Youngster Joey. Consider saving with a low level / weak main. Otherwise fight only Mikey. - Take the left path to avoid the optional trainer up to Route 31. Route 31; - Take the optimal path through the first grass pathc. - Consider checking a couple of slots in dark cave if you have still not found a main OR have a Pokemon with Rock Smash. - Take the two item balls on this route and the bitter berry. - Generally check 2+ slots on this route before continuing to Violet. Dark Cave; - This area has a low encounter rate. - Walk around to the item ball and hop the ledge back down to the entrance. Grind until you have seen 2+ slots. - IF you have Rock Smash, walk directly down from the item ball and save in front of the boulder. Rock Smash until you find an encounter, it will be level 15 and very difficult to weaken. Rock smash boulders have 2 possible slots however one is only 10% likely to show up. Violet City; - Enter the centre. ~ if you caught multiple pokes use the PC to deposit some and heal your main. ~ heal at the centre if only caught 1 or 2 pokes and need the HP / PP. ~ exit if you do not need to deposit or heal. - IF 4 non-TM status moves or HM05 Flash are on the card; ~ take the mart and buy 1 escape rope + extras if have the cash ~ go up Sprout Tower and complete the necessary fights - IF you need levels on your main; ~ go to the second level of sprout tower and fight Nico - IF you are strong enough to defeat a level 9, head to Falkners Gym Sprout Tower; - Avoid Nico if 4 non-TM status moves or HM05 Flash are on the card - Pick up the 4 item balls spread throughout the tower - Avoid the trainer near the stairs on the second level - Consider saving for the fights on the top floor with a fragile / low level main - Escape rope out once you have HM05 Falkners Gym; - Equip the berry and save before Abe - Heal & consider saving for Rod and Falkner Violet City; - Enter the centre and take the Egg. Heal if necessary. - Consider checking the trade in Violet city before leaving. - Head to route 32 Route 32; - Take the Przcureberry - Repel if purchased - Fight the Picnicker & Fisherman if Max Phonebook is on the card - IF Defeat all 8 trainers on Route 32 is on the card; ~ depending on your current level and how beneficial the experience will be, make a judgement call on whether fighting all 8 trainers now would help or if delaying them is more efficient. Consider only fighting the two with phone numbers if that is also on the card. ~ save before fighting the fisherman facing South as he has a level 15 Poke ~ this goal is often worth delaying if TM05 Roar is on the card as you will have to back track to this route later on anyway - Pick up the 4 items on the route - Optional strat; ~ enter the pokemon centre and talk to the fisherman to obtain the old rod, this can be used to fish for level 10s in union cave Union Cave; - Pick up the item balls if need item related goals or money items - Consider fighting the Pokemaniac if Defeat X Pokemaniacs is on the card (you will need to return here later to fight the other two so it may often be faster to delay him unless you desperately need the experience) - Check the basement floor TM if a random TM is on the card or if 20+ TMs is on the card (consider delaying the TM if you need to return to union cave later for Ruins of Alph puzzles / Pokemaniacs to avoid giving away information to your opponent. - Exit to route 33 Route 33; - Fight Anthony IF Max Phonebook is on the card, otherwise avoid him by walking above him. Azalea; - Pick up the hidden item behind slowpoke well - Take the mart; ~ buy is very dependant on money situation and strength of main. ~ prioritize; (3+) super potions > (5+) repels > (4+) escape ropes > (11+) poke balls > (2) antidotes > (2) paralyz heals - Enter and exit the centre - Talk to Kurt - Head back to slowpoke well Slowpoke Well; - Never worth repelling - Pick up the item ball - Save before the final Rocket unless godlike / overlevelled main - Kurt gives you a free heal after exiting - Head to Bugsys Gym Bugsys Gym; - Path in Bugsys gym is entirely preference, the twins have a different team depending on which one sees you. - The left side trainer only has 1 Poke whereas the right side trainer has 2. - Avoid Benny - Save before Bugsy unless godlike / overlevelled main Azalea; - Consider saving before fighting your rival if Bugsy was a difficult fight Ilex Forest; - Repel throughout if purchased - Teach Cut to slave in slot 4 - Pick up items if need money / item for goals - Pick up the headbutt TM if lacking a good physical move OR 20+ TMs is on the card - Take the sweet scent TM from the lady in the gate house when exiting the forest Route 34; - Fight the Picnicker and Camper if Max Phonebook is on the card - Pick up the Odd Egg if 3 eggs is on the card - Use the Day Care up to heal and deposit if necessary to make room for Kenya - Consider picking up the hidden item in the Day Care Goldenrod; - Enter and exit the centre - Consider taking the mart for X items if you have a weak to average main. ~ Goldenrod mart is slow, however it offers access to important items like full heals, revives and x items early on ~ Goldenrod mart is the only place in the game where you can buy x specials, and less importantly x accs and guard specs ~ Taking the mart can also be advantageous if your main is lacking a decent move as there are 3 tms sold on the 5th floor ~ Taking early Goldenrod mart is generally better if you have found money items early on however it is generally discouraged - Get the Bike and register it to SELECT - Consider getting the Radio Card now UNLESS 20+ TMs is on the card. Be wary of giving away other information to your opponent by broadcasting your location. - Bike through the gate house North of Goldenrod - Take Kenya Route 35; - Avoid all trainers and enter the National Park gate house - Save for the Bug Catching Contest if you need to Win / Place - Enter the contest and check 2+ slots - IF required, check the TM to the South-West (and the items) and quit the contest - If you do not catch anything (or do not place) you will be awarded a Berry. This can help with obtaining TM13 Snore. - Exit the gate house to the East Route 36; - Take the Ice Berry if 7 berries is on the card - Bike through the two / three tiles of grass to avoid the two optionals and talk to the girl. - Bike back to Goldenrod. You can bike back through National Park OR bike South and fight Arnie. Fighting Arnie is generally the best play when you need to grab the TM OR Max Phonebook is on the card. Goldenrod; - Bike to Whitneys Gym ~ Consider doing underground early if necessary for goals and will give level/s for Whitney - Take the path up and around, avoiding the trainers on the way. You should only battle one other trainer in this gym. - Save before Whitney. - Exit the gym and bike East to grab the Squirtbottle. - Bike to underground if these are on the card; ~ 3 Eggs, Haircut, Buy Game Corner Pokes, Defeat X Pokemaniacs ~ Can consider delaying Haircut to reduce giving any information on your location to your opponent - IF 3 Eggs is on the card; ~ grab the Coin Case in the underground and head to the Game Corner ~ purchase 200 Coins and buy the 100 Coin Pokemon ~ check the gender of the Pokemon you bought and save ~ buy the first poke again until you get both genders - IF Defeat X Pokemaniacs is on the card; ~ battle the required trainer to the left and the rotator at the bottom - IF doing underground always grab the Coin Case and consider picking up the two hidden items - Consider taking the herb shop for healing items if you are low on them and plan to skip Goldenrod Mart - Head back towards Route 35 Route 36; - Take the most optimal path back to the Sudowoodo - Save in front of the tree if you need to status it - Pick up the Rock Smash TM East of the Sudowoodo if 20+ TMs is on the card - Head North to Ecruteak avoiding the trainers - Take the hidden item if necessary Ecruteak; - Take the centre and watch the Bill cutscene - Head to Kimono Girls and get HM03 - Teach Surf, Repel and Bike to Burned Tower, picking up the hidden items if necessary - Save before Rival unless Godlike / Overlevelled Main - Pay attention to Dog cries - Escape rope out - Bike to Mortys Gym Mortys Gym; - Take the hidden path avoiding the second trainer - Save before Morty - After Morty consider the information you currently have and determine whether you will be able to effectively Fly skip. In general, Fly skip is not advised unless you have a very clear path to Cinco that can be quickly completed with minimal movement between areas. Having a Poke with teleport can also make Fly skip more viable. Route 38; - IF Call a Lass is on the card, fight Dana and get her phone number - Take the Mint Berry if 7 berries is on the card - IF started at 11:55pm, fight the optional for the Berry and get TM13 Snore if have 7 normal berries. - Consider fighting both Pokefans if you need $$ as they both only have one Poke and give $1,360 each.
