Is the game telling me something?

I was thinking abt the last misty death in frr2:

I got double Waterpulse from Staryu. (not sure what the chance for t1 Waterpulse is)
Both Waterpulses confused me (1/25, I had the persim)
Both of these Waterpulses crit me (1/16^2=1/256)
AND I hit myself twice in a row (1/4)

Disregarding the fact that some of these things didn't need to happen to kill me and that I should've swapped to get rid of the confusion, this was 1/25*1/256*1/4 = 1/25600 to happen.
That is roughly 1/3 of full shiny odds.
I think the game doesn't want to be played, so I'll stop :).
