----------------- WHY BOUNTIES? ----------------- A bounty is a reward to achieve a certain time in a speedrun. For example, you could offer $25 for me to get 1:47 RTA in Pokemon Red any% glitchless. There are several good reasons to offer a bounty: 1) It gives me motivation to push for good times. This is the ultimate goal of any speedrun. The grind for a good run is tough, especially when RNG is involved, but a reward makes the investment more fun and worthwhile. 2) You're more likely to see me run the games you want. I run a lot of games and have a lot of goals I've yet to meet. When deciding which goal to tackle next, I'll consider the bounties I have for those goals. 3) It supports the stream. Since I'm streaming full time, my only sources of income are bounties, subs and donations. Unlike subs, nearly all the money from a bounty goes to the streamer (a small amount goes to the tipping service). Your support is greatly appreciated. :) 4) It's more engaging than donating. While I accept plain donations, I won't read them during runs or create donation alerts. But I'll gladly discuss bounties, as I want my stream to focus on speedrunning, and I believe bounties are a great way to improve the speedrunning community. Also, you can team up with fellow viewers to make a bounty more appealing (see below). ----------------- OFFERING A BOUNTY ----------------- Steps to offer a bounty: 1) Look at the lists of active and suggested bounties below. 2) Decide whether you want to add to an active bounty or create your own. 3) Post your bounty in the "Bounties" section of my Discord (no format required; we just need to be clear). This allows viewers to see which runs are in demand and gives them some guidance if they're considering donating. It also allows bounties to reach a size that's reasonable enough to motivate me, without pressuring individuals to donate large amounts. If 10 viewers each donate $20 for the Red 1:47 bounty, I'd get $200 for meeting it, which would be motivation to start grinding right away.
