Eruption is especially helpful to KO the Grass and Steel types that beat Quagsire and the Ice types that beat Flygon. When Camerupt faces a Pokemon it doesn't like, it explodes. - Lum Berry replaces Salac Berry on this Camerupt, since it speeds up early rounds and makes fast Pokemon with sleep and confusion moves much less threatening to the team (Swampert hates them). - Camerupt's defensive typing synergizes well with Flygon and Swampert. Flygon is a free switch on predicted Earthquakes, and Swampert tanks Surfs well and usually OHKOs the next turn with Mirror Coat. - Flygon runs HP Bug primarily for Latios, Latias and Sceptile, and Fly for Heracross and Breloom. - Swampert maxes its HP EVs while minimizing Defense/Special Defense EVs to make the most use of Counter and Mirror Coat. This also frees up EVs to invest in Attack, which gives Earthquake massive power. This helps beat Water types that are slower than Swampert or don't always use attacking moves. - Both Swampert and Flygon are excellent 1v1 Pokemon, which means Camerupt can sacrifice itself with Explosion while depending on its teammates to finish the battle. Battles usually are quite fast, too. - Despite this, the team has an awful win rate in the last three rounds since Camerupt and Flygon fall off hard. Camerupt loses to most Pokemon it doesn't hit super effectively, and Flygon gets OHKO'd by all Ice moves while being awkwardly speedtied with dangerous base 100s like Salamence.
