EQless is a strategy in Pokemon Red speedruns that involves skipping the Earthquake TM typically obtained in Silph. Getting the TM (along with a rare candy) normally takes around a 41 second detour to do. This strategy has been known to be a possibility for many years, but it is extremely risky on top of an already risky run, due to having to setup more X Accuracies on things that can kill you to make up for not having Earthquake. With the Red WR being as good as it now is, I decided to look into it once again. Combining it with another old but risky strat (Celadon Center skip to keep red bar for longer), ended up leading to a route that I am very happy with and felt was worth running at this moment. This strategy adds an additional 80+% chance of dying, but saves over 40 seconds, and even over a minute in the best case.
