Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Glitchless FAQ Q: Why are you running this game? A: I'm running it at ASM 2024! ASM (AusSpeedrun Marathon) is running from July 16th - 21st. Make sure to watch it at twitch.tv/ausspeedruns ! The schedule can be found here: https://ausspeedruns.com/ASM2024/schedule Q: So why are you playing Alpha Sapphire? A: My run at ASM is going to be a race with JTMagicman, where he will be playing Omega Ruby, and I will be playing Alpha Sapphire. I just let him choose which one he wanted to play and took the other. Q: What is the differences between Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? A: In both game you fight either Team Magma or Team Aqua. They have different teams (generally speaking, Camerupts are much easier to kill than Sharpedos) You also get 2 legendaries in the run, and they vary between the games. In Omega Ruby you get Latios & Groudon, and in Alpha Sapphire you get Latias & Kyogre. Q: What are you playing on, it is emulator? A: No, I'm playing on a 3DS (original model) with a capture board installed allowing me to record game footage Q: Why do you choose Mudkip? A: Because the Mudkip evolution family is the best for the start of the speedrun. Q: What do you use after Mudkip? A: You get a free Latias after Norman, which becomes the main until Kyogre, which does the end game. Q: What causes the resets? A: I need decent stats on my Mudkip. I'm resetting for at least 13 Attack and 9 Speed at Level 5. Q: Do you catch any other Pokemon? A: The only Pokemon that is "caught" is Kyogre. Mudkip, Latias, and Castform are all gift Pokemon. Q: What is WR? A: https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnoras?h=Any-Alpha_Sapphire-ENG&x=zd378y2n-r0nwdd8q.pxqkxy19-ylq0zv8r.013xmkx1 Q: What is your goal time? A: I have no idea lmao, I have done exactly 1 run of this in the past 10 years (I did 1 Makit run in 2019, before that my PB is from 2014) Q: What is with those split icons? What does A and B mean? A: This is a grading system for all of my splits. I'm sure you are familiar with grades, A+ being the best then going down from there. So the idea is, if the split has an A+ next to it, my time there was really good and would be very difficult to beat. If it's a C though for example, it was quite poor, and I should be able to save time there pretty easily. This way, everyone watching has more accurate information on where I can save time, and where I should be making up time. Also that all time loss is not equal, as losing time vs an A+ split isn't really that bad, whereas losing time vs a C split is really bad. It'll probably take a while for a lot of people watching to pick up the meaning so I will appreciate everyone who explains how this works (correctly) in chat to new people.
