Beyond Good & Evil - Further Analysis ############################################## Thanks to : - Senvy for the long routing streams we have shared - Fehnn for the 1st Black Isle cutscene skip and Slaughterhouse 1st outdoor mine dodge ############################################## Some help : - Photograph Menu : * Left Click °1 => sends the picture * Left Click °2 => gets rid of the assistant message/text * Left Click °3 => transfers the money * Right Click => ends the transaction - Photograph Reward Menu : * TO-DO - 7-hit combo : to trigger it properly (killing a 7-Energy enemy), you must : * Spam 'Attack' until getting 2 hits * Wait for ~0.5 seconds without other inputs (directions are allowed) * Hit once more, that will trigger 5 hits that will finish the combo (one of them can miss if not facing the enemy properly) ############################################# Lighthouse Introduction : - First fight is divided in 4 parts : * 1 enemy (alone in the center) * 2 enemies (on both sides) * 2 enemies (on both sides) * 3 enemies (in the center and both sides) - TO-DO : Time the difference between between 2 3-hit combo in a row vs. 1 6-hit combo and if it's worth it on which enemy - Second fight against the Spirit Eater * Can't buffer the first Charged Attack, so wait for the camera to focus on Jade again to trigger it * After hitting him once, stay Left Click pressed to trigger another Charged Attack - TO-DO : Find a consistent way to always face him after a Charger Attack, because if not, extra movement to get a single hit - Before Interview cutscene : * Full Up to get the Pearl (no need to Left Click) * After the Alpha Section Guard cutscene, full Down to enter the elevator - TO-DO : Time the difference between running and doing a roll to reach it Lighthouse : - To get the camera, full Down+Left until reaching the wooden edge (around 1 and a half step) & press Left Click - To photograph the 1st species (flying bug), unzoom to full - To photograph the 2nd species (human-like), unzoom to full as well - Since you're facing back to the exit of the Lighthouse, use a Roll instead of triggering a sprint - Outdoor, to photograph the 3rd species (orange armadillo), stay close to the right wall, get on the 2nd violet flower on the ground - Roll in the direction of the Workshop entrance - TO-DO : When getting very close to the robot, time if it's faster to either to : * run into it without changing direction * run trying to dodge him a little * roll Workshop : - TO-DO : time if it's faster to run or to roll to trigger the PeyJ's cutscene - Get the MDisk, and in order to not make a full turn, first run Down, then Left to reach the MDisk Reader - Scroll one down to reach "Mr de Catellac" MDisk, and spam the Left Click - After the cutscene, the camera and Jade are facing a bit left from the entrance - Reach the dock, and push the electric generator from the left side - After the cutscene, run Up then Up+Left to not trigger a turn, and reach the Hovercraft Hillys : - Go towards the Mammago Garage Mammago Garage : - DON'T use Left Click to dock (otherwise, when trying to exit the Garage, the Hovercraft will dock again) - Reach the Speedcraft Motor and buy it (1 Pearl) - Roll towards the exit to save a turn - Outside, stop stop just near the little palm tree on the left : * to photograph PeyJ, unzoom at full * to photograph the Rhino at the counter, unzoom to full - Reach the Hovercraft and exit the Garage (try to go closer to the left, otherwise there might be a wall bonk) - TO-DO : the Left Click seems to be buffered, so maybe there's someting to dig into Hillys : - Fight against the Teratausorus : * Being in front cam helps * Spam the shoot to get him go in the direction we're going * A good fight should finish before moving away from the Main Canal closed door - No need to get closer to the Pearl, just reach the door : the Pearl cutscene should trigger itself Main Canal : - Reach the other side as fast as possible - Note the time when you see the Hillys panel with max luminosity Hillys : - Go in the direction of the Black Isle - To photograph the Rascax (blue fishes), add 11 seconds to the time you noted earlier, then trigger the camera (may wait ~1 second) Black Isle Outdoor: - Trigger the front camera to avoid the bonk before docking - Instead of getting closer to the tuxedo guy, dodge the cutscene following the instructions : * Get the closest possible to the entrance of the Mine (stay on the pantoon - DON'T TRY TO JUMP YET) * Croutch and jump staying the most right possible * Enter the Mine (dat' time save) - Reach the left pressure plate, and move the camera in order to place Jade's head in front of the beginning of the other pressure plate's arrow. When 'Action' appears below PeyJ's icon, spam E - Enter the Ancient Mine Ancient Mine Pt.1 : - Reach the furthest end of the wooden planck, perform a full turn, talk to PeyJ : * Left Click, then Right Click, both twice - Spam E after PeyJ's explanation ("... transportation of the future.") about the Jet Boots during the cutscene - After the cutscene, the camera is facing the entrance, and Jade is looking on the left (towards the lever platforms) * Run holding Left, turn the camera to face Jade's back and run holding Up * Get on the first plate * When hearing the beginning of "If ya' want another demonstration, ...", spam E to activate PeyJ's Super Action * This makes Jade jump to reach the upper platform - When hanging off the wood beam, spam Up to get on the upper platform as fast as possible - When reaching the top of the platform, hold Right while running, then Up to change direction (beware of stucked direction because of buffered inputs) - Reach the gear on the left, spam E when being close to it - After the small cutscene, turn the camera facing the opened way on the other side of which PeyJ comes, then hold Up while running - TO-DO : is a roll towards this direction faster ? (Might be some collision glitch with the vertical wood beams) - At the middle of the wooden barriers, activate the camera and photograph the Red Bulb which is in the floor * this is faster than taking the photo after activating the bulb, because PeyJ can move closer to us after the lag created by the Photograph Menu - Spam E to activate PeyJ Super Action, Attack the Red Bulb jumping off the ground, aim at the left-most explosives, and Attack again (to activate the Attack faster than waiting for the end of the small attacking slowed "cutscene") - Get closer to the burning explosives using a roll, BUT not too close (might take 1 Energy damage from the explosion) (good distance might be near the end of the glowing flowers on the ground) - Prepare your camera, and photograph the purple-blue anemone being the explosives (no need to wait for the glow to stop) - Run towards the anemone, and use a single hit staying close to the right wall * Cutscene : Left Click after the scanned Materia Crystal Right Click after Secundo's talk (if too much on the left side, then trying to hit the anemone again after the Materia cutscene can cause 1/2 Energy damage, taking damage costs around 1.5 seconds) - Hit the anemone twice more, then Run + Roll holding Left (to skip the end of the Attack animation) - Cross the newly-created bridge, take the right path : a Vorax should attack you here * wait for it to stabilize (Purple-pink mouth glowing) * trigger a 6-hit combo (see the 'Some help' section at the beginning of this paste) - Run towards the coal trolley/cart, and push it near the bottom wall from the left side - Hold Left and run to the gear on the left (spam 'Action' near it) - After using the gear, Roll towards the trolley/cart (to avoid the collision glitch with the vertical wood beams) - Hop on it and on the metallic part that just moved - To enter the next, Roll when the metallic part finishes on the ground Secondary Shaft : - Just after the cutscene, don't move yet and photograph the 4 new species : * Green glowing Amoeba (on the middle of the path, gives the Zoom) * Green shells (being the first species, zoom a bit) * Right-wall anemone (zoom a bit) * Vorax being the green shells (zoom halway) - Skip all the enemies, and fight the Vorax only (with two 6-hit combos, one for each) - Kill all the enemies near the pressure plates : * Green glowing Amoebas only need one hit * Green shells are killed with one hit after a PeyJ Super Attack * TO-DO : can a Jade Super Attack kill all the enemies if well positioned ? - Get on the left-most pressure plate - Spam E when 'Action' appears below PeyJ icon (remember the camera MUST have the other pressure plate on sight) - Run to the other section - TO-DO : is a Roll faster ? Ancient Mine Pt.2 : - Hold Right while running, and kick (Left Click) the left-most locker, and take the big spanner/wrench - After the cutscene, Roll towards the left grid (to avoid the collision glitch with PeyJ) and spam E when 'Action' is available - Stay on the right side of the grid, otherwise PeyJ will blame you for being on his way - Roll after the grid is opened (saves the time that Jade takes to accelerate) - Reach the left side of the dead-end, go a bit after the last blue-green algae, and make sure Jade is facing the green floor (more like a 120° turn, not just a 90°) - Photograph it (there should be no zoom to use, nor camera movement to do if perfectly executed) (if not exactly facing the green floor, move the camera a bit towards the bottom-left side) - Roll in the opposite direction to get closer to the exit of the Ancient Mine - No need to trigger the jump (done automatically), and spam Up to get on the upper platform faster Secondary Shaft : - Camera is facing the entrance where we come from, Jade is going Right - Hold Right while running, dodge the enemies (no need to kill them), and come back to Ancient Mine Pt.1 Ancient Mine Pt.1 : - Hold Right while running, until getting close to the single wooden plank on the ground, then the camera faces Jade's back - Reach the left side (with the grid) by jumping a bit before the left yellowish hold (near the little circle on the left greenish-greyish part of the metallic bridge, saves ~0.5-0.7 seconds) - Get close to the grid, make sure it is on sight for the camera, and spam E to trigger PeyJ's action - While he is opening the grind, come back next to the left yellowish hold, and try to face the Blue Fireflies (far up right) - Photograph the Blue fireflies (best zoom is between 6th and 7th graduation, starting at 2) - Hold Down and Left for about 0.3 seconds, in order for Jade to look in the direction of the Red Bump - Use the camera, nearly full zoom and photograph the green Fly (zoom ~7-7.5) - After this photo, Roll towards PeyJ and reach the boarder on the right side - Hold Up until the camera changes direction (looking Jade from the bottom), then hold Left until not following the wall - Reach the highest point of the right-most platform (behind the metallic bridge) - Push the explosive trolley/cart 3 times closer to the Red Bump - Come on the other side (stay right) of the Red Bump, spam E to trigger PeyJ's Super Action, and aim the trolley/cart as usual - Cutscene, and 3 Vorax appear and attack PeyJ * Use 6-hit combo on each of them - After the cutscene, hold Up while running, and get on the right-most pressure plate, and spam E (as soon as PeyJ says "Let's go", stop spamming, or he can start to turn on himself) - When hanging, press ONLY ONCE Up and hold it, until hanging off the other side, the spam Left Click to Unhook - Run towards the grid, and press the button on the left wood beam to open the way to PeyJ - Move the camera so the grid is in sight, then spam E to trigger PeyJ Action - While he's opening the grid : * Get back near the platform we just jumped off * Get on the metallic box * Kick the electric generator (Left Click) * Take the camera, aim the roof and photograph the green glowing snake (no need for zoom, or unzoom usually) * Come back to the grid - Reach the next section Main Shaft : - Run and jump off the platform and continue running (triggers a cutscene) - 2 Crabs appear, die volontarily (that skips this fight, and an incoming cutscene) - After the respawn, hold Left to not lose time of a fake jump attempt - Stop on the middle of the 1st bridge, and photograph the flying Nautilus (no zoom needed) - Continue, camera changes angle, take the camera - 5 Crabs appear, photograph one of them, then push them downhill with PeyJ Super Action + hit (don't push one of them into the double metallic bridge, otherwise time loss) - Activate the gear (Left Click), then hop on the platform you just moved - Reach the path with blue Anemonias on walls, doing : * 3 hits * Roll to save the 'lag' after finishing a 3-hit combo - Jump to reach the upper platfom, and spam Right to hop on faster - Reach the giant Anemonia on the ground, hit once, then spam E for PeyJ's Super Action - Go beyond it, then stop running right when seeing the end of the platform, while continuing holding Up (otherwise fake jump attempt) - Reach the right side of the central platform, wait for PeyJ (move the mouse to look where he comes from) - THEN trigger the camera, and photograph both 'species' at once (first or second appearance, be careful) * Left Click => sends to Mr de Castellac * Left Click => publish it * Right Click => exits menu - Boss starting cutscene Boss : Its death is related to two counters : a hit one and and phase one * Needs at least 7 phases * Needs at least 14 overall hits * Needs at least 3 hits during last phase - PHASE 1 / Boss appears, spam E to trigger PeyJ's Super Action - Right after triggering E : * Photograph the Boss * Dodge his shot using a Roll * Get closer to him, but not too much if it's still spinning (because you'd take damage) * When PeyJ's Super Action is finished, hit the Boss three times - PHASE 2 / Boss disappears in a hole, go next to the right-most hole (Jellies should come out from it) * Charge a Jade Super Attack and release it when around 4 jellies touch the ground (all or nearly should die) * During this phase, the boss comes from the same hole and reaches another one - PHASE 3 / Same as phase 1, trigger PeyJ Super Action then hit the boss 3 times - PHASE 4 / 3 Vorax appear : trigger 3 7-hit combos on them - PHASE 5 / Boss will come out of a hole, fly above your head and try to hit you with a continuous fire breath * Just dodge it * You can hit it during both its ascending and descending movement - PHASE 6 / Same as phase 1 and 3 - PHASE 7 / Same as phase 5, hit it with a 3-shot combo during ascending movement, and the job is done * If it still uses its fire breath, then hit at least once again during descending movement - Cutscene, a Pearl appears. Hold Up while running and take it - Long cutscene, that brings you back to Black Isle outdoor pantoon Black Isle Outdoor : - Wait for the Credit transaction to appear - Right Click to skip it - Trigger the camera and photograph the gulls - Roll to dodge PeyJ, and reach the Hovercraft to exit the Black Isle - TO-DO : Maybe Roll between the end of the cutscene and the Credit transaction Hillys : - Reach the Main Canal Main Canal : - Reach the Pedestrian District Pedestrian District : - While the little cutscene that shows the Pedestrian District landscape occurs, hold Right while running - Reach the Akuda Bar (entrance -> right-> front -> left uphill -> right -> right uphill -> Akuda Bar) Akuda Bar : - Walk a bit closer to the bartender - Photograph him (Cow, no zoom needed) - Roll left then stop near the right table, left to the left-most stoll - Photograph the Shark in blue outfit that's sitting here (no zoom needed) - Get a bit closer to the Shark, and lurk the Code which is on the ticket on its table (remember it) - Reach 2F, and open the middle door (room °2) with the Code you just lurked - Run in the room, kick the locker and take the Pearl - Roll outside of the room, take the left path and talk to Peepers (ball game) * Left Click x10 (or wait for a bigger menu than the 1st one to appear) * Down (password for Peepers) + Left Click spam until the game begins * Just remember under which bowl the ball stands and chose it with the directional inputs + Left Click - Remember the Code and enter room °3 with this very code - Roll in the direction of the wardrobe on the left side of the room, stop running when the Roll is finished (keep walking) - Put your back next to the end of the wardrobe then Left Click to trigger it - Run downhill, then cutscene - Right Click after getting the City Pass - Trigger the camera and photograph Meï (no zoom needed, just turning the camera) - Run and exit the IRIS hideout - Run holding left and exit the room - Exit the Akuda Bar Pedestrian District : - Run holding down and stop after going downhill once - Photograph the newspaper seller (small zoom needed) - Exit the Pedestrian District Main Canal : - Keep front view because of the quick incoming cutscene - Start turning left - Cutscene - Get back to front view and exit the Main Canal to reach Mammago Garage Mammago Garage : - Buy the Neutralizing Cannon (5 Pearls) - Exit the garage Hyllis : - Cutscene + DomZ Attack - During the attack, reach the Nutripils Factory entrance bypassing the Main Canal and killing the 3 drones : * 1st : after the 1st arch * 2nd : appearing when close of the Alpha Section Und. Quarters entrance * 3rd : behind the Factory entrance - Wait for the attack to end, then enter the Factory Nutripils Factory : - Dock, and jump up to the platform where is the locked door - Photograph the Red Code - Check your e-mails and enter the code to unlock the door Elevator Room : - Reach the grid - Spam E to ask PeyJ to open it - During this, photograph one of the rats - Spam Left Click to kick the grid when PeyJ is working - Cutscene - Roll towards the right - Dodge the red lasers, then activate the switch on the left wall - Come back closer to PeyJ - Reach the furthest side of the box and push it in the trench - Push the box closer to the electric fence - Left Click to jump on the box, and reach the central room - Cutscene - Run towards the furthest left-most door (open with the button) West Wing : - Run towards the left and activate the button (stay near the elevator) - When the elevator open, a fight against mechanical spiders : * perform a Charged Attack, then get outside of it and get closer to the opposite door * hit once each spider that jumps on you - Cutscene - Get in the elevator while spamming E to ask PeyJ to activate it - Once 2F reached, spam Roll and run closer to the small room - Small cutscene - Reach the small room - a security tower fells off the ceiling * Get around it and hit it to push it in the electrical fence * Roll closer to the door when it explodes (dan't stay too close, or damage) - Double H discovery cutscene - Photograph Double-H - Photograph the locker on the right side of the room - Check your emails, and enter the code - Take the MDisk Launcher - Activate the camera, turn, and shoot the Spirit Eater 3 times - Cutscene - Get closer to where Double H was tortured, take the Pearl - Before the Pearl menu appears, turn the game camera towards the grid and spam E - Double H cutscene - Reach the way just opened - Follow the wall, and reach the left part (jump = spam Left) Elevator Room : - Run right , activate the camera before jumping to the central platform and aim for the little cable that maintains the electric one - Continue running and reach the central platform - Little cutscene of the electric cable - Roll towards the center - Boss cutscene Boss / Spirit Reaper : PATTERN : * Once aim on the ground, the Reaper will jump on one of the upper platforms and shoot green projectiles to you * When hit by an MDisk, he will jump on you (need to be dodged) and will try to shoot at you * If hit by an MDisk on the lower platform, he will protect => hit it hand-to-hand * Once hit in 4 phases, it will jump on you, no need to dodge it, just hit it hand-to-hand to finish it STRAT : When hit once being on the lower/main platform, throw an Mdisk to him. Then, when it's about to jump on one of the upper platforms, throw another MDisk at it Always wait for it to start jumping, then run and follow it Its different locations should be spaced by a quarter of a circle, clockwise The point is to combo this pattern 4 times If, by accident, you don't trigger its protection once, try to throw another MDisk at it to skip one of its jumps Last phase : he jumps on one of the higher platforms, hit it with one MDisk to trigger the final QTE cutscene when the Reaper lands, hit it once TO-DO : find the correct timing to not trigger its protection (MDisk-only fight) - Roll to the left, shoot at the button on the door to open it, and reach the Electrical Room Electrical Room : - Dodge the electricity : * 1st : in between * 2nd : on the left - Stop near the entrance of the little room - Shoot the rat on the fan, and shoot it twice (to align it with the button) - Run closer to the button - Shoot at it when it's on again - Reach the bigger room, go around the central machine and try to take the Triangular Key - Cutscene : rolling drone appears - Run closer the the electric fence on the left, Super Attack from PeyJ, throw it in the fence - Take the Triangular Key - Take the AP1 - Come back to the center of the room, and try to activate the Triangular button - Cutscene : 5 rolling drones appear * For the 4 first drones : Super Attack with PeyJ, and throw them on each other for instant destruction * For the 5th one : hit it until it overheats - Run to the Triangular button and activate it - Take the Fuse next to it, go around the central machine, and get the 2nd Fuse - Exit the Electrical Room Elevator Room : - Run towards the broken part of the elevator, and spam E to activate PeyJ action - Cutscene - Run to the right of the elevator and put the Fuse back - Cutscene - Activate the button - Cutscene - Enter the elevator, and activate the inner button when PeyJ already entered the elevator - Cutscene - Come closer to the right side (with the 2 buttons) - Shoot at them (both should be activated nearly simultaneously) - Enter the room : Sarcophagus will appear after a short cutscene * 2 Charged Attack * Photograph the Sarcophagus near PeyJ * Kill it with a 3-hit combo - On the right side of the room, jump on the upper platform - Kick the grid to open it - Reach the X-Ray Verification X-Ray Verification : - Safe zone - Reach the other room at the end of the bridge, then instantly come back to where you came - Cutscene of PeyJ - Push the fallen box near the door (1 time left, 3 times near) - Jump on the box (Left Click) then shoot at the button (need need to move the camera, the MDisk goes through) - Kick in the left grid - Croutch and roll Shipping Room : - Run on the right, jump on the platform - Double H cutscene - Roll on the floor all the way to the left side (beware of rats, roll far away from them or on them to kill) - When reaching the end of the tunnel : unhook - Follow the edge on the right - DODGE 1 : Dodge the guards by Rolling (standing - DON'T RUN AT ALL) - Keep rolloing until the next room with the downhill - DODGE 2 : Right after the downhill, croutch and roll up to the guard showing his back Roll to the door (the right guard will see you, but won't activate an alert) - Keep rolling : right - left (you will see a corridor turning on the left) - DODGE 3 : Sneak in the back of the guard moving away from you (don't be too close if standing) When closer to the red laser receptors, Roll until after the door - Run until you see Double H cutscene - Shoot at the 3 buttons under Double H path - Go in front of the red lasers, ask Double H to activate the button (spam E) - Roll when the lasers are deactivated - Cutscene - Run to the door, go right - DODGE 4 : Jump on the platform above the guard to unhook in his back Roll away from him - Keep rolling : right - left - DODGE 5 : Jump until the mid-sized wall Croutch, then roll on the ground to the exit (Spinning will see you) Roll to reach the exit - Go right X-Ray Verification : - Roll to get the guard cutscene - Croutch and roll on the ground to hide behind the moving box (Guard might see you) - Move along with the box, and photograph the panel that shows a human-like X-ray (Mission) - When the box is around 1 meter away from the right mid-sized wall, Roll following the blue lasers, then go right Closet : - Go on the right side (beware of the rats on the ground) - Jump on the boxes Nutripils Vat - Activate the camera and shoot at the button on the right - Wait for the guard's textbox to show up, then Roll to the other side by the left side - Photograph one of the green spiders - Open the locker with the Triangular Key - Take PeyJ shoes (cutscene) and remember (note down) the password on the right side of the screen (will be needed in the Lighthouse) - Roll towards the right room - When reaching the center of the room, come back near the entrance (2 towers appears) * Push one of them in the electrical fence * Dodge the laser from the other one, and exit Routing : - Run towards the blue lasers and dodge them (left side) - Movement : left - right - Shoot at the button, then dodge the red lasers to reach the door that is closing - Sneak, roll under the blue lasers - DODGE 6 : Stay sneaked, and wait for the guard to turn around Shoot at his backpack, and roll in the little tunnel - Hop on the platform from the right side - Take the blue elevator - DODGE 7 : Sneak exiting the elevator, and roll to the furthest wall following the guard When the guard you're following stops, Roll to the door (he will see you) - Go right Rolling (no run) - DODGE 8 : walk behind the moving box when it stop next to the last guard, Left Click to hook on it when the grab finishes its movement, Left Click to unhook, then Roll to the door Control Room : - Dodge the blue lasers and the electric fence - Go on the left side and follow the wall (below the guard) - Just before quitting the wall, shoot at the button to move the platform - Get on the platform and shoot the button again - Roll to the little hole - DODGE 9 : Roll on the floor on the right side Yolo Roll to reach the exit - Dodge the moving blue lasers - Photograph the DomZ Alpha Section guard - Roll to activate Double H cutscene - Run until the start of the downhill - Roll twice on the left side - DODGE 9 : The goal is to neutralizing both guards Quickly shoot in the right guard's packpack Immediately croutch Wait for the 2nd to show you his backpack Shoot in it - Run to the other side - DODGE 10 : Roll in front of the windowed central pillar (guard doesn't see you) Throw an MDisk on the furthest wall (creates a diversion) Roll to the left side - DODGE 11 : Roll twice downhill Run until the guards hear you Roll on the floor to the furthest left corner to get the Square Key Roll to the lasers and deactivate them with the Square Key Routing : - Run to the Square button, activate it, and reach the next area X-Ray Verification : - DODGE 12 : Roll closer to the guard and the red lasers Shoot his backpack - Activate the Square button - Run on the right, and photograph the Code door - Enter the code received by email, and enter the room Loading Room : - After following the wall, roll once closer to the center of the room - Activate the camera, try to focus the guard on the upper platform (if cutscene doesn't load, try zoom and unzoom) - Cutscene Boss / DomZ machine : TO-DO - PHASE 1 : Alone, hit one of its foot once Cutscene, DoubleH appears TO-DO : skip that ? - PHASE 2 : Hit its right foot while spamming E (DoubleH charges its left foot) Throw an MDisk at the Pearl (while it is down) Spam the highest part of its front grid (MDisks go through it to hit the Pearl).
