- Get PC Potion (use vs. rival if necessary)
- Train Pikachu to Lv. 8 (290 exp) to survive Pidgeotto
- Viridian mart: Buy 9 Poke Balls and 4 Potions
- Catch a Lv. 5 or 6 Caterpie
- Catch Pidgeotto
- Switch Caterpie to the front
- Train Caterpie to Lv. 10
	> Split exp. against 3 forest optionals 
	> Get full exp. from Lv. 10 Caterpie (switch in Pika to weaken, let Pika die, switch back in)
	> Get full exp. from Diglett (solo) and Sandshrew (switch in Pika to Growl/Tail Whip/heal, let Pika die, switch back in)
	> If Pikachu runs low on Thundershock PP, kill stuff with Pidgeotto
- Take Pewter center
- Brock: Confusion x3, Confusion x3-4

ROUTE 3 TO MT. MOON
- Turn on SET
- Sell TM34
- Buy Potions, 4 Antidotes and 3 Paralyz Heals
- Beat Route 3 with Confusion and Tackle (fight the trainer with 4)
- Take Mt. Moon center
- Get the Rare Candy
- Fight the Hiker (Confusion x6)
- Super Nerd: Confusion x7
- Jessie & James: Confusion x7

MISTY
- Take Cerulean center
- Use a candy on Butterfree to reach Lv. 18
- Get hidden Rare Candy
- Beat rival + bridge with Confusion
- Take center about halfway through bridge to restore HP/PP
- After taking the center, spam Potions on Pikachu until happy, then get Bulbasaur
- After completing the bridge, get Charmander, switch it to the front, and turn on SHIFT
- Fight top Hiker and the Hiker with 4
- Split exp. with Butterfree until Lass, then beat Lass with Charmander (Ember)
- Split exp. with Butterfree in Misty's gym (Confusion, and use Bulbasaur's Leech Seed on Starmie)

SURGE
- Split exp. for the first three trainers
- Teach Dig on one of the heal menus between the three trainers
- Buy Super Potions and 3 Repels
- Get Body Slam and teach it
- Fight the Gentleman for exp + Rare Candy (Dig)
- Beat rival with Charmander (Dig/Body Slam)
- Teach Cut to Bulbasaur
- Surge: Lead Butterfree, Stun Spore, Confusion until dead, send in Charmander, Dig x2
- Get Bike Voucher
- Get Squirtle
- Dig back to Cerulean

ROUTE 9 TO CELADON
- Take Cerulean center
- Beat Route 9 with Ember and Dig
- Rock Tunnel and Gambler: Use Charmander for everything except Cubone (Confusion)
- Get Nugget
- Take Celadon center
- Sell lots of stuff, then buy Super Repels, Great Balls, Revives, TM32, Poke Doll, X Attacks, X Speeds, X Specials, X Accuracies and Fresh Water (second shopping trip may be necessary)
- Get Fly
- Teach Fly to Pidgeotto, teach Double Team to Charmander, use Super Repel and Fly to Lavender

LAVENDER TOWER
- May want to use a candy or two here (Fearow damage range and Gastlies outspeeding)
- Rival: X Speed, Double Team x1-2, X Attack until +4, Body Slam x5
- Dig all the Gastlies
- Jessie & James: X Speed, X Attack x1-2, Dig spam
- Don't teach Slash
- Get Poke Flute, then Fly to Celadon

ERIKA
- Take Celadon center
- Beauty: Ember x2
- Erika: X Special x3-4, Ember x6
- Fly to Celadon, then go to Silph

SILPH + SABRINA
- Go straight to rival (Dig Arbok)
- Rare Candy to a level at which you outspeed Sandslash
- Rival: Double Team x6, X Speed, (X Acc), Body Slam/Dig spam
- Jessie & James: X Special, Flamethrower x3
- Giovanni: X Attack, X Speed, Dig x7
- Dig out, and bike to Saffron Gym
- Sabrina: X Attack x3, X Speed x2, (X Acc), Body Slam, Dig x2
- Dig out, and Fly to Fuchsia

KOGA
- Take Fuchsia center
- Juggler: X Attack, Body Slam x4
- Juggler: X Attack, Dig, Body Slam x2
- Koga: X Special, X Speed, Flamethrower x5
- Get Strength and Rare Candy
- Fly to Pallet

BLAINE
- Surf to Seafoam Islands and catch a Lv. 27+ Krabby
- Fly to Viridian
- Enter Viridan center and release Butterfree
- Bike to the grass before Victory Road, and catch a Primeape
- Fly to Cinnabar
- Enter Cinnabar center, release Primeape and withdraw Krabby
- Go to the mansion and catch a Muk
- Get the 2 candies and the Secret Key
- Dig out to Fuchsia
- Bike to Safari Zone and catch 18 Tauros
- Dig out to Fuchsia and change boxes
- Bike to Safari Zone and catch 11 Tauros
- Dig out to Fuchsia, then Fly to Cinnabar
- Use all but 1 candy on Charmander, evolving it into Charizard
- Use last candy on Krabby, evolving it into Kingler
- Blaine: X Attack, Dig x4
- Dig out, then Fly to Viridian

- Cooltrainer: Flamethrower x2
- Blackbelt: Flamethrower x3
