Alpha Sapphire Any% FAQ Q: What are you playing the game on? A: I'm playing on a New3DS XL with a capture card built-in to record my game audio and video. Q: What happened to Omega Ruby Runs? A: I got world record! The VOD is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibmjILWrMmA Q: Why are you running this game? A: I developed a new slightly risky strategy for Alpha Sapphire only that can save upwards of 20 seconds if things go well. Combined with the fact that I lose ~30 seconds in Elite 4 due to safety strategies I took in my PB, I'd like to try to beat my PB. Q: Why do you pick the girl over the boy? A: Picking the girl changes the natures of your rival's Pokemon. In our case, picking the girl gives Brendan 2's Grovyle a -Sp. Def nature, making it easier to kill (also picking the girl is based). Q: What is the differences between Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? A: In Omega Ruby you fight Team Magma, consisting of many Numels and Camerupts which are easy to kill. You also get Latios in the mid-game which has a much higher Sp. Atk stat than Latias useful for getting damage ranges. Alpha Sapphire must deal with Sharpedos using Latias, which is a much much much less favorable matchup. That being said, it is true that Kyogre has a slightly better end-game than Groudon does, but it's not enough to make it the better game of the two. Q: Why do you choose Mudkip? A: The Mudkip line lends itself very well to the first half of the gyms in the Hoenn region. Q: What do you use after Mudkip? A: You get a free Latias after Norman, which becomes the main until Kyogre, which does the end game. Q: Why did you reset? A: I probably either died or didn't get good enough stats on my Mudkip. Q: What is WR? A: My current PB, 2:53:57, is world record. The VOD is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO4MQqWOwkQ Q: What is your goal time? A: Any PB would be good, but I'd probably like 2:53:3x or better. Q: Why are you talking to nobody? A: Sometimes I like to be in Discord calls with friends to make resets more bearable. I don't have their mics audible on stream for the sake of privacy, so it understandably sounds like I'm talking to nobody.
