Pokemon Fire Red any% FAQ
 
Q: What are you playing on?
A: A GameCube using a GameBoy Player.

Q: What are you trying to do?
A: Beat the game as fast as possible.

Q: What is the best time?
A: 2:01:22 by MEvRNG, according to the in-game timer.

Q: Why are you resetting?
A: Probably because my Squirtle's stats are bad.
 
Q: What stats are you looking for?
A: A Modest, Mild or Rash nature with 28+ IV Special Attack and 18+ IV Speed.
 
Q: Why are stats so important?
A: Bad stats cause me to die in important fights. Good stats allow me to hit damage ranges that save a lot of time. I need particularly high Special Attack for a new route that I'm trying out.

Q: New route?
A: I'm fighting an extra trainer early so that I can save turns on several fights, cut out a bunch of extra shopping and make Surge's gym safer. If I run anything less than godly Sp. Q: What is your goal time?
A: Probably sub-2, although I haven't played this category enough to know for sure. I'm guessing a good time would be 1:55-1:56.
