Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Any% FAQ

Q: What do you play this game on?
A: I play on a Nintendo 3DS with a capture board installed.

Q: What are you trying to do?
A: Beat Pokemon Alpha Sapphire as fast as possible.

Q: Are there any glitches used in this category?
A: There are no glitches used in the run.

Q: Why do you keep resetting?
A: Probably because I didn't get the stats required on a Mudkip to get on a run. I need a minimum of 12 Attack, 10 Def, 10 Sp Atk, 9 Sp Def, and 9 or 10 Speed at level 5 to start a run.

Q: What Pokémon do you use for the run?
A: I use Mudkip, Latios, and Kyogre as my main battlers. We later get a free Castform as well from the weather institute.

Q: Is the delta episode in the run?
A: No, the game is finished after the rival battle during the credits.

Q: Is there a category with delta episode in the run?
A: While not on the official leaderboards, there is a "full game" run and an "all Mega-Stones" run that both do delta episode!
 
Q: Does gender affect anything like in Gen 2?
A: Picking May instead of Brendan makes the 2nd rival fight a lot easier. The Grovyle has a lower sp def due to its nature, if you pick the boy it has higher sp def.

Q: Is Alpha Sapphire faster than Omega Ruby?
A:From what I've heard, Alpha Sapphire is overall likely faster than Omega Rub. But Omega Ruby is more consistent for runs.
 
Q: Is there any strategies involving Time and Date like in Pokemon X?
A: None

Q: How is the movement compared to older generations of Pokemon?
A: I love the diagonal movement and bike! They're so much fun compared to the simple 4 way movement in older generations!
