- Rare Candy to L40 before Surge but after Tucker (rush to Tucker and hopefully it can a part of the menu to save for cans) - In Safari Fly Menu: > Heal to survive Giga Drain in Torrent (+6s) > Teach Surf > Fly to Celadon and fight Erika - Erika: > X Spec, (Heal status), Surf, Bite, Surf (+16s) - Fly to Fuschia, fight Koga, get Strength and Warden Candy (-10s) - Skip healing Blastoise at Sevii PC - Silph Rival: > Max Elixer and Heal to survive QA + WA x3 out of QA range > Swap, X Acc, X Spec x2, WP, Blizz, Blizz, Bite, WP - Viridian Rival: > Heal to full > X Spec x3, X Acc, Surf, Blizz, Bite, Blizz, Bite, Surf > Gyarados is 14/16 at L50 > X Speed Growlithe if dead to Psychic Withdrawing 1 less mon (-4s) Evolving 1 less mon (-25s) Diglett (+27) Average Encounter x2 (+35) (adding a weaken turn) Pewter (+55) Other Benefits: - 40 for Raichu, WG*/WP always kills Raichu (-0.25s) - 42 for Muk (improves defensive ranges) - 42 for Weezing (41-->70% OHKO) (-6.5s) - 43 for Rapidash (outspeed with 19 speed) - 44 for Grimer (82-->100% OHKO) (-0.75s) - 47 for Kangaskhan (64-->82% OHKO) (-1.4s) - 47 for Alakazam (outspeed with 29 speed) - 48 for Machokes (82-->100% OHKO) (-1.5s) - 50 for VR Gyarados (+3 strat stuff) (-3.5s) - 58 for Weezing (8-9/16 -> 14-15/16) (-2.5s) Net: - Early Warden House: -10s - Mid/Late Game Candy Benefits: -16.40s - Skipping 1 Candy Evo Mon: -29s - Early Erika: +22s - Replacement Catch Options - Diglett (+27s) (assuming the 2 replaced catches for the lack of candy mons are 2 mons you encounter first encounter and yoloball first ball) - Average Encounter x2 (+35) (assuming the 2 replaced catches are 2 mons you encounter first encounter, weaken, then throw a ball that gets in first ball) - Pewter (+55) (assuming the 2 replaced catches are Aerodactyl and Diglett, two mons that are very consistent but very slow relative to other catches) - Net before considering 1 caught mon: -33.4s - Net assuming Diglett: -6.4s - Net assuming Average Encounter: +1.6s - Net assuming 1/2 Pewter: +21.6s On top of this, subsequent encounters and breakouts can also be estimated at around 10-11 seconds each for both of them. Obviously only an option for caught mons (i.e. not candy evos). TLDR: If you are doing this strat, make sure that the mons you choose to replace your two candies with are fast encounters (i.e. don't resign yourself to just doing Pewter as a quick fix to counteract the two lost mons). This strat is only worthwhile if you get your two encounters with no more than 1-2 combined extra encounters/breakouts.
