Q: What are you playing on?
A: I am using a GameBoy Player with a Carby HDMI adapter and GBI for improved quality. My controller is a GameBoy SP. I uses an AVerMedia Live Gamer 4k capture card.

Q: Why are you resetting at the start?
A: I am doing an RNG manipulation for a very good Squirtle. I check my trainer ID and input it into a program that tells me if there are acceptable Squirtles or not (about 60% of the time there is). It also tells me what frame it is on, so I have to try to aim for that frame and hit a 1 frame window to get the correct Squirtle. NPC's moving randomly advance the rng, so I do things like open the bag and take weird paths to either prevent them from moving or be able to track it easier. The manipulation is not very consistent because of the npc movement, so it can take a bit to get a run going.

Q: What Squirtle stats do you need?
A: A runnable Squirtle needs to be a Modest, Mild, or Rash nature with 30+ IV in Special Attack, 25+ IV in Speed, good HP + Defense, and not horrible Attack. Special Defense doesn;t matter very much.

Q: What Pokemon do you catch this run?
A: I will use the Squirtle line to beat the entire game. I also need Pokemon to use Cut and Fly, so I will catch one of Pidgey/Spearow, and one of Rattata/Sandshrew.

Q: Why LeafGreen over FireRed?
A: LeafGreen is better for a few minor reasons, the main one being that Sandshrew is available on route 4 in LG while it is not in FR. LeafGreen also has a slightly faster title screen in case I have to reset for cans, and also the default Rival name is RED, which is shorter than GREEN. I use the default name to get earlier Squirtles.

Q: Can anything else be manipulated besides Squirtle?
A: Nope! Besides Squirtle manip, this game is entirely manipless. Because of the way RNG works in this game, the title screen scrambled the RNG in a way that is not consistent or trackable, so there is no currently known way to manipulate it.
