Pokémon Blue PC Jack Speedrun Guide

The basic idea behind PC Jack is that the PC Potion is replaced with what is known as a Jack item. Jack items allow you to walk through walls two tiles thick. They allow this by locking in place your orientation and then, as long as there is a free space in front of you, it will allow you to move in any direction. This allows us to get to areas in the game much quicker than normal, allowing us to fight only 7 of the gym leaders and 1 other trainer.

When you use JACK, it brings up the Pokémon Menu, and it will either act like a potion or show "NOT ABLE" next to each Pokémon (supposed to be acting like an Evolutionary Stone, maybe it's the secret Evo Stone everyone's talking about). After backing out, sprites are removed from the screen including yours but the Pokémon sprites will stay on the screen. If you face a direction where there is a non-solid tile, you can clip through solid tiles 1-2 spaces long. 

The reason this happens is the glitch item opens your menu, but since the game doesn't know it's an item that opens your menu, it doesn't close the menu, which makes it so the game thinks you're in the Pokémon Menu and the Overworld at the same time, which makes it so the game doesn't update direction, and since collision data only checks if the block in front of you is solid, you can walk through walls.

Movement throughout the map will require practice as your player character will become invisible in the jack state.

Guide:
Name character AA

Get the Cancel item from your PC

Pick Squirtle and name him A

Jack up Route 1 and past the tutorial guy

Jack into the route to the right of the building into Viridian

Go up through the building and then perform the Encounterless Diglett Cave manip

Go to the mart and buy:
	> 4 Pokeballs
	> 1 Super Potion
	> 2 Repels

Get the Bike Voucher

Heal at centre

Jack up towards the underground path to Celadon

If you see a flier on your way, catch it

Once inside, walk 2 steps to the right and 6 steps up then press A. You should collect an X Special.

Head out of the Underground Path and jack into Cerulean

Walk to the Bike Shop and redeem the bike voucher

Once outside, jack and then get on your bike

Jack into Unknown Dungeon by facing right and moving into the water, bonking to the left. Open your item menu and flash your Super Potion. This allows you to maintain your jack state and enter the Unknown Dungeon with ease.

Perform Sandslash manip and yoloball

Split and exit Unknown Dungeon

Jack past the guy and then go left, down and around towards Misty

Jack past the gym minions and then switch Squirtle with Sandlash

Misty:
	Staryu: Swift

Jack out to the right of the gym and walk up to fight the Rocket

Rocket:
	Machop: Swift
	Drowzee: Swift

Bike down towards the Underground Path again, but this time Jack into Saffron. Teach TM28 to Sandslash  over Poison Sting on this menu.

Go to Sabrina's gym, walk directly up and jack straight to her

Get on your bike and then jack left towards Cerulean

Head towards Erika's gym

Jack onto Cycling Road and then up towards the Fly house

Collect Fly

Jack down onto Cycling Road

If you didn't catch a flier earlier, catch one now


Bike towards Koga's gym, enter, and then Jack directly to him

Bike/Jack up towards the Safari Zone

Go up and left, then left to the next area, go up the stairs and then jack out of the top of the hill

Collect Surf, leave the building and then Dig

Bike/Jack towards Surge's gym and walk up to his doors

Teach Fly and surf then jack through through the door

Fly to Pallet

Walk towards the water, use a repel, and then surf to Cinnabar

Jack into Blaine's gym and the towards Blaine

Dig out and then fly to Viridian

Bike to Giovanni's gym

Jack to Giovanni

Walk out of the gym and then bike West towards 

Jack past Viridian Rival

Enter building and Jack past Brock's badge check

Enter Victory Road and use a repel

Jack up and left towards the first stairs
Jack around everything towards the exit on the East side

Deposit all but one Pokemon

Enter the Elite Four

Face each of trainers and then jack through their respective doors

To jack past Lance, face away from his statues and then walk behind him through the doors

Dance past Champion and enter the Hall of Fame
