Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown | Pit of Eternal Sands FAQ

Why are you playing this?
- I picked this up because of the $10k challenge being hosted on speedrun.com! I have never played a Prince of Persia game before, but this seemed far more appealing than the other 10k challenges I've seen floating around, so I wanted to try my hand at it.

Do you have any experience running Metroidvania games?
- No. I tried the demo for this and it was pretty fun though, I have the 2nd best known time there, you can find the community leaderboard for that here:

Why doesn't this challenge do the entire game?
- I have absolutely no idea. I'm thankful though, allows me to be able to do attempts consistently.

Why did you reset?
- I have no idea, could be so many things due to how inexperienced I am, also this game came out on the 15th so it's brand new.

How much will you grind this?
- I'll give this an honest go unless I feel like I'm too far behind to catch up with other runners. I have no idea what the standard of play is going to be for this, it will probably increase significantly through the 2 weeks. I lack a lot of the time that other runners might have due to working full time, but I don't want that to stop me!

Who is currently in the lead?
- No idea, I don't really want to update this Pastebin multiple times a day either, ask me or check the verified runs at the link above.

How fast do you reckon this category is?
- Once again no idea, I know its under 1 hour, others have made a guess at Sub 50, but until I've done runs for a couple days I can't really say, I also anticipate new stuff to be found all the time.

Is this glitchless?
- Yes! Which I'm really happy about, despite some of the glitches being super cool. There's a technique called slide cancelling which was horrific to do consistently, like significantly harder than any Pokémon mashing. That being banned was honestly about 60% of the reason I even considered doing this seriously.

Are you done with Pokémon?
- No.

What's next for Pokémon?
- I have no idea.

Why aren't you doing runs?
- Because practice is infinitely more important than grinding in this game.

What is your goal?
- Well, obviously to win, but I don't see that happening just due to lack of time. I'd be happy with any decent placement in honesty.

What are the grades? (A+/A/B/C)
- These are actually more for the benefit of the viewer, to see how good the segments were in my PB, with A+ being the best, and C being the worst. Shows easily that losing time to an A+ segment isn't that bad, but losing time against a C segment is really bad. It also allows viewers to see where I'm expected to be able to save large amounts of time.
