Speedrunning Goals 3:02 in Let's Go achieved, so now where do I go from here? At this point there's not much I feel I need to prove or get, but there's quite a few things I may want. Slightly categorized goals, within categories goals are mostly sorted in gen order lol July Update Had to drop the Let's Go tourney, unsure if I'll return to speedrunning for a bit. Main thing is I got to 3:01 in both Let's Go versions but have fully burnt out since then. AOP is somewhat interesting since it's much more relaxed but probably won't do it more than a handful of times. HGSS is somehow the most likely Pokemon speedrun I might do rest of the year, and that would only be for that tourney if so. May Updates/Progress - FRLG tourney: got into semis! didn't win a single race and was the last place qualifier for round 2, but super happy with how I did in it :D - Colo: gave up on attempts, got too discouraging yoloing a lot and not really improving. will return someday, probably play "safer" and finish a lab skip run to PB, then see how I feel after that - Let's Go tourney: officially is a go! summer plans might make my participation tougher, so we'll see if I need to update this goal or just not participate, hopefully I'm still fine though - Let's Go Eevee: somehow got a 3:02 lmao, felt like a worse run than my Pika PB. decent chance I'm wrong, but combined with the tourney, means I'm not done yet. might do both games, definitely have more Pika muscle memory but the differences aren't too bad. also turns out before making this doc I was running Eevee off SD card so had some free timesave from that lol - Haven't done any other runs since then, though I am considering picking HGSS manipless up again, potentially even joining their next tourney. Would put in a lot of work reformatting the notes to fit my style though, so would be a massive commitment and I might not. Top Priority - Colo PB: That stretch of back-to-back almost PBs has made it clear this is the time to PB. Favorite run, will probably be satisfied with just about anything - 3rd round in FRLG tournament: Last year's 3rd round choke still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Next tourney, clean runs into the 3rd round will be the goal for FRLG - (Assuming it happens) quarter or semifinals in Let's Go tournament: Semifinals will be the goal for Let's Go, though my expectation is quarterfinals for now. Obviously depends on a tourney being made, and as far as I can tell we're currently in the interest-gathering phase. Never Urgent, But Will Go For and Get Someday - Marathon runs and/or commentary: Time's a big one for this, and I'm not likely getting invited by community members to commentate their runs heading forward. But this may be my future as a speedrunner, and I will do these things to help out the community. - TCG sub hour: This game's physically painful but I definitely want this. This'll take a while but once I get sub hour, I'm done. - Gold Manipless sub 3:20: Not a particularly crazy goal, manipless kinda sucks but I can handle sub 3:20. - Gold/Crystal Manipped: Not attaching a goal time to it until I experience it and see how much or little I enjoy it. But do wanna learn/relearn the manipped runs and try them out. - Moon: Yeah I have no idea when I'll submit a run. Technically have done runs before, but never submitted it. Technically wanting to know how to play this game quickly got me into speedrunning originally, so there's some sentimental value to this one. - Let's Go Eevee 3:04 or lower: Eevee's just not fun, but I'll get this someday. Stretches - Blue CEA PB: Too stressful and hard for me at this point, but I don't have a PB on the current route, so something might give with this goal. I also might just never relearn the route and in turn never touch this category again. - Yellow 1:54: Kinda similar case as Blue CEA, for this one I'm more than happy with my current PB anyways. - Platinum Manipless: Have done a run, but unsubmitted due to Youtube troubles. Unlikely I put in the work to learn this game, especially considering it's a DS game. - Black or White 2 Manipless: No goal time, but do wanna do a run of one of the Gen 5 games. Probably a one and done, though the preparation stage will take much longer than actually doing the run. - Let's Go Pikachu 3:01 or lower: Assuming the Let's Go tournament is a go eventually, I'll return to Pika and practice for it. Very possible I start grinding for 3:01, and who knows, maybe I'll go for more. - Scarlet/Violet single story runs: I have a good amount of interest, but the reason this falls under Stretches is completely dependent on the Switch PSR community doing one thing: b-- h------. Do that and I'll run SV, until then I'll steer the hell away from this game.
