2022 FRLG Tourney Round 3 Predictions

0. Winner, 2nd Place, 3rd Place

1. KukkerTM, Shiru666, PulseEffects

A race with all runners being former WR Holders. Goes without saying that at this point every runner still in the tournament has enough skill to win their race; this is especially the case this race. Shiru's luck has been burning red hot through the first two rounds of the tourney (with execution to match), while Kukker's and Pulse's luck have been (insert frozen by Ice Beam joke here). I'll say Kukker's luck turns around, Shiru's cools off, and Pulse makes it a close fight for 2nd place but [luck runs up in E4]. I should say, ANY OF THEM COULD WIN THIS RACE.

2. MachWing (me lol), Main97, randalleatscheese

I'm calling my shot in every race. This won't change for any set of predictions.
Even though i'm picking myself this is really anybody's race. Main and randall are both great at this game, albeit randall admittedly rustier. Doesn't change the fact he's a great racer. Pretty sure randall does early surge this time, but not sure if its great to switch up routes mid tourney with the added rust (i'm a hypocrite tho and might switch to late Surge lmao). I think if Randall does late Surge he gets second, but ill leave the prediction as is. Again, ANY OF US COULD WIN THIS RACE.

3. Ananan113, Juanlyways, GShark54

Ana is my odds on favorite to win the tourney. Execution is CLEAN, is consistent, and plays the most consistent route (in races). Juanly might switch to Late Surge for this round, but feel i dont need to say more than he's the current WR holder. GShark is better than he gives himself credit for, though this matchup is tough. I think there's actually a decent chance GShark takes 2nd here. Don't think the final times will be separated by much. Again, ANY OF THEM COULD WIN THIS RACE [except Juanly Kappa].

4. Pokeguy, Kadir61Plays (non advancing time), caterknees

Pokeguy is probably a lot of people's favorite to win the tourney. Can't say that's a bad take. Pokeguy is t h e pokemon speedrunner. Kadir and Cater are both great runners, and they definitely are good enough to put up a fight in any race. Think this will be a close fight for 2nd between the two. I'll give the edge to Kadir since he's been playing FRLG for longer than Cater has. This is FRLG though, ANY OF THEM COULD WIN THIS RACE. 

5. Pickleplop, JP_Xinnam, AmoebaUK

This race is honestly pretty even across the board; gonna be one of the ones i definitely want to watch. These are pickems though so i'm just gonna call my shot and say the Pickle Party starts here and he returns to the semis. This race is likely gonna be ridiculously close. JP a long time and great runner of FRLG, Pickle (reminder, a finalist last tourney with 'technically' 2 h2h wins against Pokeguy (beat me too but i'm not as impressive)), Amoeba picking up the Squirtle route fast and getting to this point off the back of two wins. I'll just say this comes down to E4, Pickle wins and JP's overall FRLG experience wins out with E4 knowledge and gets him 2nd. One last time, ANY OF THEM COULD WIN THIS RACE. 

Reminder we play a terrible game, the RNG is horrendous, DNFS are commonplace, the backbone of the route is 14 Mega KEKS, X-Acc never gives us 100% accuracy, the E4 is cringe, walkers cringe, cans cringe, 1%'s cringe, and the boy is faster.
