Can switch if confused if playing safe at that point) Slightly more health to tank Nidorino/Drowzee/Koffing attacks Can Elixir before first Juggler instead of after (and Bike to the Gym with this menu?) Using the Rare Candy straight away in the mansion means slightly less tiles with no chance of getting lvl 42 Weezing/Muk <<0.x>s) Bad: Get Toxic (3.9s) Lose a bit of time using the Super Repel to get Cycling candy, but a few steps shorter (<0.x>s) Risk 2 tiles in Safari Zone (s) (Another 1 if want Max Potion, another 2 if want Max Potion and Full Restore) Always get 1 more Healing item in Safari Zone (~2.7s) Always have to Rock Slide Silph Growlithe, even if X Spec used (<0.x>s) HD instead of BB on Rhyhorn (<0.x>s) Slightly worse level ups for redbar (Level up after Hypno and Weezing, which are both last pokes) Debatable/unsure/situational: Thrash for Arbok (Debatable) Various menus (idk, but pretty sure this is a time save with less buying/selling especially) If you do not have the Antidote, pickup Max Ether after Rock Tunnel, then do not get second Lavender Elixir Riskier final fight with no super potions. Will not get redbar if Sky Attack, high chance to die if no healing item at that point (You'd go for 1/3 Reflect off Zam) Other: Must kill Weezing, not allowed to die. You both need the experience to level to 42. You could technically die and get both candies in the mansion, but this is super slow. This works out on this strat fairly well though, as you do a few more setups anyway, the extra health can help (e.g. for Machoke/Giovanni), and if out of redbar, allows you to potentially live a Sabrina Mr Mime Confusion, which is the biggest added risk in the run. Using HD to kill is faster than an X item anyway, and on 17HP at Weezing, you still have redbar to Machoke, so potential to keep it the whole way. Can not stall Cubone with X Spec and then BB Marowak from a 4 HD Silph Rival (really low health, Pidgeot crits lots), but can Elixir during the fight on either Drowzee or Marowak if you wanted. Menus (TBC): Switch Bubblebeam to Slot 1 before using it against Growlithe (+<0.x>s) (Other obvious things) To play safer, can get underground nugget to sell as well. Buy more potions at the start, buy some super potions, another super repel, and can buy an extra x acc + x spd in case agatha confuse ray -> through -> hit self -> hazes you. Note however, that you will have 2 extra items (Super Potions & TM34). If no Antidote, this means you are 1 over the threshold (so e.g. sell bide if still have all items), and if you have the Antidote, you are 2 over (Sell Bide and antidote?) | This also allows you to switch later, instead of buying 6 potions and being off normal strats. But you can almost always make it with 6 potions for normal strats anyway, so maybe that's fine Alt: Skip the extra Elixir Changes: Don't get the second Elixir in Lavendar tower. Use Elixir after Hypno trainer, instead of before (2 HD PP after Koga) Blaine: X Acc: RS, RS, HD, HD (Elixir after) Sabrina: RS, X Acc: HD, RS, HD Blizz | X Spec: Blizz, TB, TB (TB) | Alt: TB + TB, Blizz, TB + TB Giovanni: X Acc: HD, HD, HD, HD, (Ether on Rhydon), HD Viridian Rival: X Acc (#3, D2) + X Spd (D2): TB + TB, Blizz, TB, RS, HD, HD (Teach Fissure after this fight instead of before. E4 is exactly the same) Given the worse move usage (3x Super effective Rock Slides, no chance to Blizz OHKO Pidgeot), this is probably barely any faster. And riskier Blackbelt fight, this is almost certainly not worth it. ...unless, the 600 you save from using a cheaper X Item, somehow sways you otherwise. Which it prob shouldn't
