Pokemon Crystal custom starter FAQ

Q: What are you trying to do?
A: This is a romhack. I'm trying to beat Pokemon Crystal as quickly as possible using a custom starter in place of Totodile. This is a fun project to figure out which Pokemon would be fastest if you could use them for the full game.

Q: So which Pokemon are the fastest?
A: Here's my ranking so far:

1. Alakazam (best time is 3:06:23)
2. Mewtwo
3. Magmar
4. Electabuzz
5. Nidoking
6. Girafarig
7. Typhlosion
8. Charizard (best time is 3:11:31)
9. Celebi
10. Feraligatr
11. Raichu (best time is 3:14:20)
12. Ampharos
13. Nidoqueen
14. Ho-Oh
15. Mew

Q: Why are there Repels at the Cherrygrove Mart?
A: To eliminate the need to RNG manipulate encounters and catches. Making manips manually takes a ton of work, and botting manips requires the help of a select few community members (who are usually busy). Routes 31 and 32 have also been modified to have only Poliwags and Bellsprouts, respectively.

Q: Doesn't Gen 2 not have early encounter manips?
A: Not at the moment, but it will eventually.

Q: Why does your starter always have perfect stats?
A: To eliminate the need to RNG manipulate them.
